I own and still operate an electrical business focused on service work here in Vancouver. A few years ago, I realized something: when we partnered with some of the best contractors in the city and had a system behind passing referrals, all of our businesses grew together.
I was a member of BNI for years. The best BNI chapters were always the ones loaded with home service and trades businesses — we'd get a ton of referrals. But here's the problem: it was too hard for contractors to meet every single week. Between job sites, quotes, and running a crew, weekly meetings just don't work for trades.
So I built HomeLocalPro — monthly in-person meetups, biweekly Zoom catch-ups, and a referral tracking platform built specifically for contractors. No forced referrals. No awkward networking with accountants and insurance agents. Just the best trades pros in the city, sending each other real work.
